Our new entertainment center for $34.98... Just a visit to the 2nd hand store, some sanding and cool paint!

Hola Mujeres!

My husband & I love colorful furniture.  Can you tell?  Our home is full of color and not only the furniture... I consider our family so full of love & lots of color! Anyway, we needed a new entertainment center for our TV.  We did not want to spend $$$.  So, we took a trip to out favorite 2nd store and found an old one for $25.  It was the perfect size and it was in good condition.

We used:
1. Three cans of purple spray paint (for furniture-$3.99/each)
2. Sand paper ($3.00/pack)
3. New knobs ($2.99/each)
4. The old entertainment center $25
Total spent: $34.98

It came out nice and clean.  It goes with our colorful family and TV is off my kids hands.  No more prints in the screen or wires everywhere.  I love home projects. It brings us together.  You girls should try it....maybe start with something small. I hope you girls liked it.  It's not PIER 1 furniture or from a fancy store... But I loved it!
Talk to you later mujeres!

No queríamos gastar $ $ $.

Saludes!

Whooping Cough is still lingering in California...

Happy Monday Mujeres!

Did you have your tea, coffee, or energy  boost yet?  I did!  Anyway, I was talking to my sis in law about whooping cough in California.  My niece is going to be a sophomore in high school and they are asking for another Whooping Cough (Pertussis) shot.  She is not happy to get another shot. Poor baby girl.  Who likes shots right? So, I looked into it and now I know why. I found this information about other rare diseases that are still around in 10 States!  Check out the link I found in Yahoo:
http://health.yahoo.net/articles/emergency/10-states-where-rare-and-exotic-diseases-lurk

I also found the Vaccination Schedule 2011 for kids up to 18 yrs old:
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUM50RPp_oojQRouTq7z0Z6sbpKv51GDMuGNytbDZUFrogJSmcz9FnG5KdgcycP1zEX-e0-U6QaiiXc9IKl0jCrA4Jah0VsSbdYn7AVrPqRTg8KFmBL3Fm7f5gJdu7ILRWxwZE2lreV15E/s1600/child-vaccinations-immunizations-0-to-18-years-old.JPG

In a few words, take a look at your kids Immunization card and see what else is needed.  I understand lots of people don't like vaccinations because of famous side effects.  My humble opinion is: get the most important shots!  They will protect your kids.  I personally do not like the flu shot and my kids have survived without it for 2 years.  I load them up with tons vitamin C and green veggies!  I hope you find this information helpful!

Have a great Monday! Muchos besos y abrazos!

A unique way of framing your pictures! Cheap and easy!

Hola Mujeres!

I hope your week treated you good.  I personally had a bad week.  I got a root canal and my left cheek was swollen for like 2 days... Ouuchh!  Well, I am feeling better and ready for a new weekend project... So this is it!  A new fun way to frame your pictures!
You are going to need:
1. A wood frame ( any color, because you could spray paint it).
2. Chicken wire or any wire that you could pull
3. Small nails
4. Clothes pins (maybe some nice ones... decorated ones ...or colorful ones)
5. Maybe some nice ribbon to hang the frame instead of using wire to hang it.
You can add your special touch.  I start my weekend project tomorrow.  I got the frame at savers for $1.50 (second hand store), some bling to put on the frame ($2.99), ribbon (1.99), and spray paint (4.97).  I can't wait to start it.  I know I am going to love the outcome!  Try it out!  You can make it fancy, natural look, or loud colors!  I will post my outcome during the week!  Have a great weekend!

Forget the old veggies platters!

I think this is perfect for any casual party.  This is more practical, clean and you would not eat any double dipping from anyone else.  I tried it with my kiddos and they ate it all.  Give it a try in any of your parties! Let me know if your guests like it! You can even use other containers... Try some fancy glasses!  Anyway... have fun!

Keeping our beautiful Spanish in our kids' lives! Mantener nuestro hermoso idioma con nuestros hijos!

Buenos Dias Mujeres!

Who knows this song? Los Pollitos dicen?  It brings me so many memories. It made me smile! I bought it for my kiddos!  Here is the link to purchase:

Today, it's lazy Friday at my work and have lots of free time... Yay!  Blogging time!  So, you will have several posts from me today.
Bueno, my first language is Spanish and I love my language.  As a bilingual mujer, I feel blessed to be able to communicate, dream, think and live in two different languages.  Even, if my grammar in Spanish it's not as advanced... I still enjoy it!
As a momma, I would like for my kids to feel the same.  I would love for them to embrace and love it as much as I do.  However, I catch myself speaking more English with them.  My daugther (Grecia) spoke only Spanish for her first 3 years. Once, she got to preschool, her English starting flowing.  Now, she is speaks both and I feel like she is so lucky.  In the other hand, my boy (Bautista) speaks more English.  I blame myself for that.  It was easier and I was lazy.  I feel so guilty.  From now on, I make this a commitment to keep my language live in my Casita and I will do my best.
I found some great websites and blogs that will help me succeed and I hope all you Latina mommas do the same.  Wish me luck and let our Spanish keep on flowing!
This is an excellent website that will come in handy for the mommas that decide to have bilingual kiddos!  Good Luck!

¿Quién sabe esta canción? ¿Los Pollitos dicen? Me trae tantas memorias. ¡Me hizo sonríer! Lo compre para mis hijos.... Yay!
Fui perezosa (floja, aragana).  Me da mucha tristeza.

Sharing a money saving tip from a momma that loves to have some extra mula! I hope you learn something and try it out!

Buenas tardes Mujeres!

My blog time it's waiting for my father at work since we carpool.  Anyway, I would like to share this link that takes you to the rite aid website.  They have a program with your wellness card (it's free).  This program gives you money back and it's call the UP rewards.  When I lived in California, my life was so busy that I never took time to look at any offers or coupons. Now I do! And I make less money so...you figure...Well, they have weekly products that give you money back ($1-5..or even more) when you purchase them.  That money stays in your receipt as a confirmation and then you could use in your next purchase.  Last week, I purchased 3 toothpastes for $2.99 and they gave me $6.00 dollars back.  Those $6 were used to purchase my body wash (by the way ..it smells delicious..yummy) that also had up rewards.  So, I hope you get it. Give it a try.  For my California girls, I know time is precious over there and it seems like you never have that time.  But, do it on a Sunday or Saturday morning.  You will save some money and it's not like $500 dollars but it makes a difference... it could be for you next Caramel Machiatto at Starbucks!!! Or even a little to bit towards your next girlfriend night out... Right?  *wink wink* Mucho besitos chicas!

A colorful celebration for a happy marriage....Planning ahead!

Hi ladies!  I hope your Wednesday treated you girls right.  Mine was ok.  It was raining in Utah and not having my kiddos & hubby really got to me today.  I can't image not having them forever.  Anyway, I was looking for something to cheer me up. I started thinking of my future plans: My husband and I plan to renew our wedding  vows in our 15 yr. anniversary... So, I have ways to go, but planning little by little will always help.  So, I came across the perfect cake and perfect theme for a colorful and happy marriage like mine! What do you think? of course don't expect me to look like that model... hehehe!
